Representing 438 of Ontario’s long term care homes, including 96% of private sector homes and over 40% of the provinces charitable and non-profit homes where over 50,000 residents live, the Ontario Long Term Care Association (OLTCA) has a vision – to be the leader in shaping long term care in Ontario. To achieve this, we created a foundation of values and operating principles that enable us to support our Members in providing efficient, high quality care and services to residents, including accountability, commitment, integrity, leadership and solutions.
As one of our core business functions, OLTCA believes that effective leaders are always learning. We therefore strive to support sector stakeholders by staying at the leading edge of developments affecting the delivery of long term care services and home operations. Through our education initiatives, our goal is to provide members with ideas, views and support to help them improve care practices and, ultimately, the life of the resident.
In addition to its home members, OLTCA also has a Commercial Membership of over 250 companies who provide every conceivable type of product and service to improve the efficiency of homes and increase the quality of life for residents.

ORCA is the “collective voice” of retirement home operators across the province. ORCA is known to the public, media and government as an organization that shapes public policy and sets the bar high for standards of living for the many seniors who live in member homes.
ORCA provides leadership in areas of education and training, supports members to meet provincial regulations; adopt best practices and, through accreditation; promote quality and excellence in all areas of operations.
ORCA represents 80% of the retirement residences in Ontario, with over 37,000 residents living in 425+ residences across the province. ORCA also represents 270 Commercial Members who provide the latest in products and services to the sector.
